Actually Richie if you could give two lightsabre strokes everytime I say the word menstrual cramp (on the first and third syllables) and, ah, angry achilles if you could follow that with a sort of anguished painful flourish sounding like a distraught whale sighing.

I picture RFNAPLES and JOANNAJEWSOM as a kind of Ike and Tina Turner set up... i don't know why.

So, it's kind of like William Shatner meets Yoko?

jeez, i hope i picked the right producer in cellardoor.. he could have his work cut out in giving this shit some direction..

then again, lightsabers and fecal matter have not yet joined forces in the musical world.. perhaps we have a modern day trout mask on our hands..

I kinda liked the original idea, before this turned into something completely else.

As it is pretty boring to discuss the instrumentation of the band I think it's better to move on to hitting up the suggestions for who is actually in each spot. To make it easy then, stick with a classic rock group combo with room for variations, that is: 1 lead singer, 1 drummer, 1 bass player, 1 lead guitarist, 1 rhythm guitarist/keyboardist/sax player/pan flutist/what-have-you.

Here's my five:

Vocals - Freddie Mercury (Any genre will do)
Drums - Vinnie "Mad Dog" Lopez (Leave the rhythm to the bass)
Bass - Jaco Pastorius (The bass is supposed to be heard)
Lead Guitar - Stevie Ray Vaughan (To put some blues in the sound)
Rhythm Guitar - Billy Gibbons (Crank that groove up!)

Sadly we're not likely to ever see this band, as only Lopez and Gibbons are alive, but that's beside the point.

Vocals- Iggy Pop (Stooges)
Bass- Peter Hook (Joy Division/New Order)
Guitars- Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine)
Percussion- Hugo Burnham (Gang of Four)
Electronics- Darren Seltmann and Robbie Chater (the Avalanches)

some sort of psycho-dance band, like a New Order that only fucks and kills, in the angriest and dreamiest fashion

The ultimate modern-day, post-britpop, new prog, Manchester-based (Elbow and Doves) group.

Vocals: Guy Garvey (Elbow)
Guitar: Olly Knights (Turin Brakes)
Bass: Jimi Goodwin (Doves)
Drums: Andy Hargreaves (I Am Kloot)
Other: Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead)

This would be a great band to see. Not the ultimate of all time but one I thought of when I saw this thread.
