Very happy to hear about your experience. Hospice always hovers just outside my top ten. It really is an emotional juggernaut, and a musical masterpiece. More people should listen.
My recommendation to anyone before giving up on Hospice is to listen to it while reading along with the lyrics. You need to understand everything he's saying to really get the full emotional punch this album packs. It's a big one.

Two words: Bob. Dylan.
Seriously. I've tried it so many times. So many different moods. So many different people I've listened to it with. And of the probably 50 times I've heard albums of his, none have ever done it for me. I keep revisiting mostly because I'm an idiot. I'm not going to like it, I know that, but I am an idiot. That said, Hospice was one I'd been giving hate to somewhat publicly and I felt the need to express that it didn't deserve it. Sorry I did it in this way, probably would've sufficed to leave a comment on the album. _________________
