Interesting list.

Think there has to be a distinction made - when you say 'you don't understand them', do you mean...?

- you don't like/appreciate their music
- you don't see why other people like them so much
- their music confuses you to such a degree you might suggest that it isn't even 'music' at all. In which case, God help you when you come across Captain Beefheart.

To give you two cases in point: I like Radiohead. Quite a bit. But I do not understand their mass appeal. However I do not like Coldplay but can understand why others would (easy on the ear, nothing offensive - just bland). See what I mean?

...in which case, I can wholeheartedly answer your question by saying, without a shadow of a doubt, the one band on the Top 100 I simply adhor to the point of nausea is The Killers. "Are we human or are we dancer"... err, no. You're shit.

Be interesting to find out what other BEA members make of your selections... there's some pretty popular choices on your list, especially Arcade Fire, NMH and The Smiths...

Ozzy has been here for a short while only. Do you expect anyone new to search the whole forum for a topic sometimes a few years-old? A little understanding, or a link to a former similar conversation, would be a nice welcome for the new member. Or maybe simple courtesy. You were new here in your time too.

Agreed. I've spent such a long time on the forums, and I still don't know about a quarter of the threads on it. May be just laziness, but really, you can't expect everybody to know if something similar had been posted YEARS ago.

Back on to the topic, though, I was wondering........why do you dislike the Velvet Underground? Just askin', 'cause they are one of my fave bands ever, you know......
