Whaat? 😕 Oh! Are you talking about The New Poronographers? Yeah, she's in that band, but that's kind of a side project for her, and different from her normal style of music. She's just a singer in the New Pornographers, whereas she writes and sings her own songs as a solo artist. Her solo career comes first for her.

No, not really. Listen to the clips posted. She's more in a traditional country or folk rock sort of vein.

How would you describe / characterize her, Ffudnebbuh? I'm curious how others perceive her music too.

I once owned a copy of New Pornographers Challengers. I assume she was the female singer there. I might have a listen later.

Yeah I love Neko Case. Her last album in particular Middle Cyclone. My favorite song from her is probably Star Witness:

That is a great question Mr. Shankly, I was thinking about that yesterday after my post...I don't think she can be categorized. I never heard the twang until my sister mentioned it and then I could hear it,..I don't hear her as country at all, but everyone else does..funny how everyone hears an artist differently. To me, She reminds me of a female version of The Band. Interestingly, Garth Hudson played on her first album. when I first heard hear, I assumed she was one of the gay women singers, non political with a great voice, weird that is how she struck me, but i think she is straight, so my perception of her is different from other peoples. She also reminds me of a milder Michelle shocked combined with Kate and Anna McGarrigle? So, I guess I can't categorized her because as soon as I say that, it doesn't sound right...well anyway her voice is amazing. I hope that she makes a zillion albums but with a better band.
