Hey meccalecca, can you turn around and say to someone "Hey I'm not releasing that" and getting them to change the album to how you want it? :o
Haha. Do you mean for Mecca Lecca artists? Yeah. I usually get demos of the songs early on and I go back and forth with the artists about what works and what doesn't, but I generally trust the bands I work with because they're pretty phenomenal musicians.
Unicycle Loves You got rough masters back from Bob Weston and sent them to me. The main guy Jim said he thought the synth was a bit louder than he wanted, I said I preferred it, but ultimately he won.
Haha. Amen. I've been getting press copies of some stuff, but following the rules and not adding anything until it's released. The Marissa Nadler record would be my #1
Honestly, and although I'm only 12 or so albums into the year, Brookings would be mine. Nadler's would be near the top though.

Thanks for all those. Never heard m b v because of bad experiences with band before. Heard an album called 'Loud City Song' by an anonymous user and that was very good!
Thinking about doing a thread about songs and albums which would have been more popular/acclaimed had they been recorded in a different decade. Is this something people agree with? It wouldn't be much good if most of you turned around claiming every song and album would be as popular/acclaimed had it been released in any odd year.
