Hypnagogia by The Gray Field Recordings
Bloodstream: Whatever it is I want it to fucking take me. It is reluctant to do so even though it acts as if it wants to...do it damn it! Please? I'm suddenly crying, I think it is taking me.
Ring Bells: Oh it has suddenly gotten confident, it seems so sure I am already taken! I am not convinced of it but I am not leaving so perhaps its confidence is well placed.
House of a Grape: This is some minor demon, a demigod of sorts! Oh how it curls and slinks and makes my stubborn dead eyes close to turgidity! It wants to take my soul...away from here, I want to let it, but this is a minor demon and a soul is a heavy thing to carry.
In Exodus: It is exhausted, but that is just the shell, demons are ethereal, demons are spirits not bodies. It is exerting its force on me without touching me, in fact its funny little demon skin is lying at my feet, panting. But the air around me is it.
Prelude to an Alchemical Wedding: I look around and see new architecture, I'm in a halfway place between Earth and a spiritual place, the spirit realm, I guess...the turbulent emotion of humanity is palpable in the walls. I walk through the halls, I walk, I walk, I walk...oh it is unbearable, the walls are so loud.
Forty White Horses: Haha, I'm in the funny hall of a funny man, the hall is past, perhaps this is Satan or God or somesuch thing? Laughing at his little game. Oh I'm close to tears again but he is such a funny little man, such a simple little man. He is a little boy playing with his food when his mother leaves the room. But he is so funny, he is so clueless, he plays his little instrument...funny little man. (I will admit the sudden singing messed with my immersion a bit but that's what I get for coming up with my own story...perhaps the little man sings like a woman, that would be more than adequate...perhaps the little man is a woman...he's god or satan or somesuch thing, it doesn't matter...oh, no! Leave the parentheses to say this) Time itself is singing and lamenting and laughing at the carelessness of the little man, of God, of Satan, of the Little Boy whose Mother Time has left the room.
You Have Suffered: Oh, so here in Heaven or Hell or whatever it is we catch frequencies from Earth? Hella cool, I'm gonna watch some TV. Ermm.....aagh, you guys, there are demons in the tv, can we do something about this? Their hellfire is really ruining my program.
Nancy's Song to Charlie: I'm watching Earth from here...it looks so peaceful...Mother Earth is singing! Lamenting, is she? Funny, everyone but God or Satan or somesuch thing is lamenting...damn the little brat, damn him! Oh, the damn humans are trying to drown out Mother Earth's words.
Stars Fall to Earth:
The demons are playing a game of natural disasters...they're very good at this, they score many points, there are cheers, oh they have a marching band of sorts! Haha look at the funny little anguished cries below. The interviews of the disaster victims on the news may as well be the interviews of the athletes themselves who started the flood, the earthquake, the tornado....
Passiflora: The suffering on Earth has long arms, it keeps reaching up to me, but I left it! I have entered the ful throes of escapism, your Earthly emotions cannot touch me, I am a demon now...ooh it is pulling me down, oh I am waking, a gentle touch!! Oh the fever is unbearble, the sun is glaring through the blinds, the tears will not stop! why did I leave her? Why did I let the demon take me? The little thing couldn't have carried me if I didn't let it. The gentle arms are the best thing, they burst above demon noise...
Creeping: Sometimes I hear demons warbling through the fabric of the air, sometimes I hear their thunderclaps, sometimes they reach me in my dreams, even though I have left them. I am still in gentle arms, and that is where I will stay. Gentle arms...and that is where I will always be! Demons can spy on me and pry at my brain but I will never yearn for them again. Perhaps this little room is all I need to reach their allure, without being enraptured by it, without being drowned in it. I am sorry, love, this is where I will stay!
This escalated. It was initially just me saying the things that are now under the first track. This album is perfect, listen to it.
