Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 81.7/100, a mean average of 81.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.3.

Mrs Robinson, Hazy Shade of Winter, Faking It and America are great. Could have done without the random old people talking track, which I really don't get, and the two Bookends Theme tracks. The rest of the album is pleasant but unspectacular.
This isn't their best work but it still has great moments on here including the exceptional Mrs. Robinson which stands out as the best track. That final three track run is the peak for me with some outstanding song writing and beautiful performances from everyone. The rest of the record is pretty good but it can be slow at times and I do think there is some unnecessary moments. Overall, this is an innocent folk album that sounds soft, smooth and has some fantastic harmonies on it.
Very good folk rock album, their best in the 60s. Fav track: Mrs. Robinson
Con este brillante álbum Simon y Garfunkel dejaron de ser un simple dúo de folk.
I actually prefer Simon solo but there is no question about the greatness of this album. Really good stuff.
Wonderful album. A studio triumph and a songwriting masterclass. The old people stuff stinks but I suppose Garfunkel has to contribute something.
magnificent musical presentation. cross-genre melding. political statement. harmonies. brilliant.
83/100.
Best songs: America, Fakin' It, Mrs. Robinson, A Hazy Shade of Winter
Worst songs: Overs, Punky's Dilemma
A really great album overall. One of my personal favorites from S&G.
Nicely Done boys! Rating (80.42)
Bookends's brevity works in its favor as a majority of the tracks are largely uninteresting. The highlights (Save the Life of My Child, America, A Hazy Shade of Winter, and especially Mrs. Robinson), though, are monstrous peaks.
