I can't even believe you people are having this conversation. The dude was a massive influence on New Wave and one of the greatest rock song writers to have ever lived. My Aim is True is pure gold from end to end and Armed Forces is one of the most true-to-life chronicles of the way in which people break each others hearts that's ever been put to tape.

I just told you what he contributed to music. In the post you quoted me in. Big influence on new wave. Inspired generations of songwriters. Made some timeless classics in his early days. That's what he contributed to music.
