When I heard the first 2 minutes of "You Only Get What You Give" by New Radicals on the radio, I thought it was Hall&Oates and that they were great again.

...and, although I can't really count this one because I first saw him the very first time I heard him, Michael Fitzpatrick of Fitz and the Tantrums sounds VERY MUCH like Daryl Hall. Go listen. Seriously! It's uncanny.

"It's Uncanny", actually a beautiful song by Hall & Oates

I thought Road to Nowhere was a Brian Ferry song, until quite recently. I still have to struggle to remember it's Talking Heads sometimes.

John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band... On the Dark Side____ I would swear was Bruce Springsteen

Knew most of these and they're alright but man this sounded just like Bruce, I'm a big Bruce fan but I could easily be fooled by this. Amazing stuff.

Yep. that's why I put it at the very top of the list. that's the all-time most amazing one

Dedicated Bruce hater here. But I really dig the show tune there. Don't know why, because it is a dead ringer for Bruce,

The America song like Neil Young??? Not a chance. America actually sing through their mouths, unlike Neil who seems incapable of uttering a single syllable through anything but his nose. There's absolutely no way one could mistake America's harmonies for Neil's uber-nasal whine.

🤣 It sounds so unlike Neil young that his father rang him and congratulated him on the big hit he'd heard on the radio, being sure it was his son. I've never had young down as nasal, whiney yes. And what a great whine it is.

I always like to say my favorite Elvis record is Suspicion which in fact is by Terry Stafford.

Also (stretching truth a bit) favorite Bowie is "All the young Dudes" by Humple Pie.

And favorite CCR - Long Cool Woman - Hollies.

What really would have fooled me though is "Lies" by the Knickerbockers, recently (re)discovered. This really I would have said is by the Beatles.

It's actually by Mott The Hoople, and Bowie did write the song and sang backing vocals so it isn't a total miss.
