Strange Boutique by The Monochrome Set
Do you still want to rec this even though it was originally intended for satiemaniac? Or you wanna change your selection (in which case I'll probably end up listening to both anyhow ๐ )
I had started to listen to this once, but had to stop in the middle for whatever reason. Just finished it now. I don't know, it's not bad, but there is something totally annoying about the music here, I can't say exactly what it is, but by the 9th track I was really tired of it. I liked the track Round and Round though.

I enjoyed this, really solid power metal album. When Michael Kiske came in on "Where Clock Hands Freeze" I literally said "Oh fuck yea." That song is amazing, easily the best song on the album, Kiske kills it on this album. Anyways, really good album, I liked it.
I wouldn't exactly call this comparable to the Beach Boys (though how do you measure fun? ๐ค ), though I do think this was a good enjoyable afternoon listen though I think I preferred the first half to the second half of the record. For some reason it's really reminding me of Pepe Deluxรฉ and similar acts so that's a good thing. Looking forward to repeated listens.
All in all, pretty awesome. The instrumentation was incredible all the way around, the guitar work, the piano, the bass, it was all just supremely impressive. I would've liked the lead singer to have more power in her voice, but she wasn't bad. Overall, really really cool prog album, I liked it a lot.
