I gotta agree with that. While I love Swans I wouldn't describe their music as post-rock. Also while I know it "technically" is I wouldn't describe Spiderland as post-rock either, in terms of the sound and structure that I think of with the genre. Guess I'm starting to get why so many bands hated being called post-rock...

I chose Agaetis Byrjun and felt so ordinary after. Though F#A#, Lift Your Skinny Fists, Laughing Stock, Spiderland, and TNT are close behind.
Still, what really is post-rock? _________________

Wikipedia's definition is funny to read because it is laughably unclear.
Wikipedia wrote: |
Post-rock is a subgenre of rock music characterized by the influence and use of instruments commonly associated with rock, but using rhythms and "guitars as facilitators of timbre and textures" not traditionally found in rock. Post-rock bands are often without vocals. |

Looks like the winner is....
Sigur Rós - Ágætis Byrjun
I don't know how to close this poll, so we might as well let it run for infinity... _________________ "And can’t you see you’re in on it?
