Not necessarily pop punk, but I've been jamming to the Lawrence arms, Alkaline Trio, Hot Water Music, MxPx, Get Up kids, and The Mint Chicks recently. All very good stuff.

Note: Bowling For Soup is one of my favorite pop punk bands despite most people not liking them. The lyrical content is juvenile, but that's the fun of it.

EDIT: The Broadways is a recent find that really should be listened to if you have interest in pop punk.

It's nice! I'd suggest NoFX, and these:

IV by The Spits

The Spits V by The Spits

Ps: I admit I like very much some Good Charlotte's works.

Whoa Gowie how do you know them? My dad used to be friends with the lead singer, he's told me bunches of stories of how the singer would just pop behind counters at coffee shops and make people white mochas for the hell of it, or how he rapped "Green Eggs and Ham" on a radio station after hearing the first hip hop song he'd ever heard. He's a really chill guy ... but I didn't think they were well known!

I had a "tr00 pop punx" phase, as a band they have a few records that are really essential like the one I mentioned. Not exactly obscure though.

Huh, I really didn't know they got any real attention. Then again, my dad sometimes forgets that Green Day is famous cuz he vaguely remembers their drummer and he thinks he remembers Sweet Children being around but sorta on the down-low in the scheme of things. I have a skewed view of the whole Gilman thing as a result, though. But that's cool! They're pretty good, "Even Hitler Had a Girlfriend", while not pop punk, is a classic.

That was actually the first song I heard by them (I was asking for recommendation from a longtime punk expert who had lived through the goth rock scene in the eighties) so I got a whole field of stuff to look into at the time. But yeah, definitely enjoyable for me. Pretty neat of your own knowledge of them, I donโ€™t have really any family that was/is cozy with musicians who mattered in any capacity.

The Incredible Shrinking Dickies by The Dickies

I'm listening to this for the first time atm, it's brilliant. Just hysterical fun punk, super short and never serious. Catchy as hell too. I see Gowi has recommended another one by them (which I'm going to listen to soon as well), and I'm adding my voice to his : this band is amazing.
