now i believe the ramones were the first proper punk band but does that mean proper punk is pop punk because music classified as pop punk (well more retro songs) is closer to the ramones (the originators) sound.
secondly who started the jangle pop craze in the 80s and was it inspired by the byrds?
and finally power pop, i find this really hard to classify. i really want to discover more bands from the mid to late 80s like the mice but its so often labelled indiepop or twee pop. are the replacements power pop?...
