Instead of the usual "Look at my chart!! Look at how gorgeous it is!!" I'm gonna take a moment to post my favourite charts with brief notes on why I love them. ๐ Charts are an artform, the ultimate method of self-expression for music lovers, and charts are worth being discussed, they're just difficult to discuss, them being such personal things.
Custom Charts
Don't (Don't) Stop Indie Pop! by NoWaxJim
Ever since Manc left this has been my sole source of indie pop (mostly twee pop), a genre I adore.
Sure I've got SingingPeasant's chart which is also great but...this one feels almost purer and...idk, I just love it to death, I don't think I've heard an album from it yet that I didn't like.
My Indie Selection. by Hayden
This chart is weird in that I don't think I've ever taken recs directly from it...it just happens to have lots of the unique albums that I've found and fallen in love with on it. Probably means I should take recs from it, haha. God bless Hayden.
Best Ever Black Metal Albums by Necharsian
Dunno what I would have done without this chart in my angsty lonely times where I just needed a blizzard of noise to envelop me like a blanket. I'm picky with my black metal, but this chart seems to cover a really great range of it anyways.
Dark Music (formerly Unpleasant) by Yourself
I literally wrote in the comments that unpleasant music is my least favourite type of music. I also tried to make a lame joke but failed. Luckily that was swept away with the deletion of my old account, haha. Anyways, for something I decided was so my least favourite sort of music, I eventually came to find the chart and the things on it fascinating...Sort of expanded boundaries for me.
It's like a perfect mix of the adventurous young person enjoying life, and the experienced older (note: not old, just older, lol) person reflecting on memories...It's just an exquisite, personal, energetic, adventurous array of albums. And the notes are endlessly entertaining and charming, because that's just the sort of person NoWaxJim is.
No Mage on Tamriel has a soul gem big enough to hold Antonio-Pedro's soul. This chart is the most enthusiastic energetic thing. I love it to death. And the music on the chart is, for the most part, not even the sort of stuff I usually listen to!
Top 50 Greatest Music Albums by The Poe
I would've put his folk chart as it was the genre I thought he had the best taste in, but unfortunately it is lost forever. I loved his overall too. Earthy and exciting music abounds! Sure, some of it might make your ears bleed, but it is all in the name of adventure.
Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by GeevyDallas
Young and fun but undoubtedly good-natured. I mean, I can't really say more than that, that is pretty much the best way to describe it.
Think of this as my love song to BEA. ๐ Note that these are all time favourites so naturally I was being a bit picky about what I included but shout outs to Drakonium's overall, one of Norman's charts idk which, Bongritsu's overall, Yourself's overall, Cymro's overall, Strange Girls by sssvnnn, and...countless others, probably.
Rather than talk about other people, I'll talk about me, and about a semi-big update to my shoegaze chart, in commemoration of it being picked for the UPotD thing, or something. New things added, lots of order changes. I forgot to do some of the changes I wanted to make, but I'm too lazy to go back right now. Check it out, it's cool. Everyone should listen to The Ecstasy Of Saint Theresa.

Such a lovely thing for you to say (I always did say you had exquisite taste :D). I'm truly flattered for the love - it's always nice to find out something you've poured your heart and soul into whilst the wife's doing the ironing or her nails has pushed someone's buttons.
Bar your own masterwork, my (other) Own Private Idaho is Brun027's overall chart with all its many Brazilian nuggets. I bloody love it and suggest others immerse themselves in Raul Seixas or Jaime e Nair or something rather than the fecking Killers. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing Folk 'n Stuff SHAMELESS RECORD DEALER PLUG
Finally went ahead and made a 2014 chart, as I've heard enough albums now it might actually be worth making. This is the first chart I'm not following the "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" rule for.
Hoping to try and knock out a couple more 2014 albums today for the chart, anyone got suggestions? (I'm already listening to Foster The People's new album as I promised a friend I would ... at least it's not American Authors, I guess) _________________
