Folk Off! Pastoral Perfection for Pixie People by Jimmy Dread (2019)
A very personal ping-pong affair around folk in all its many wonderful guises - from trad to the folkiest of folk-rock, to folk-prog and a little American Primitivism, to what some bright spark decided to coin 'New Weird America'. Don't start splitting hairs about which of the listed is folk and which isn't (simple answer - it all is), although you might notice a slightly more trad-folk flavour to this list than in something like Norm's wonderful "Normlore" chart, to which this is a distant cousin separated by a mere 19 miles of water between Dover and Calais. Bon voyage, mes amies. Jimmy, May 2019

Folk Off! Pastoral Perfection for Pixie People ratings
av = trimmed mean average rating an item has currently received.

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)
This chart is rated in the top 1% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 91.6/100, a mean average of 93.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 94.4/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 9.2.

Absolutely fantastic chart brimming with some personal favourite of mine; I ran a folk radio show (named What the Folk??: Ballads From A Thin Man) at my uni last year and used this chart as for recommendations. The 'perfect for' descriptors is a lovely touch too ... great stuff!
@Jimmy Dread lol I even ctrl+f-ed it, guess I misspelt. Fantastic LP. Another thing just came to my mind, Willard Grant Conspiracy's Let It Roll, it's more like americana/folk stuff but great nonetheless. Check it if you haven't already.
I'll say it once again though, great idea and chart :)
Great chart. There's so much for me to check out here too
@LedZep Forest’s S/T is already in there pal - lovely LP.
superb folk world & country selections..... !!
Really nice chart
Effing cool. Very personal and honest and eccentric. I’d recommend Forest by a band called Forest, it’s what I imagine “Pixie people” would listen to lol
Very interesting chart mate
Great title. And you've got Jose Gonzalez in there. I'll have to check out some of the many I've never heard of. Thanks.
