This may already exist. I'd like this to be a place we can just post something that we really love atm. And then ask people in the BEA community to contribute some key albums that they feel will also be loved. I don't care how obvious it is. Like, not at all. Can be such a super obvious rec cuz you never know, maybe the person hasn't heard that album. Like example if someone is like "I fucking love 'Rust In Peace' by Megadeth right now! What are the most obvious recs that you would think I wil also love?" And then someone says "check out 'Countdown To Extinction' by Megadeth, 'Master of Puppets' by Metallica." That is kinda obvious, but also good. Anyway, yeah, just an idea.

Been going through the metal albums thread, dropped off this list with a request for recs but it got buried at the bottom of a page, so hit me up

For black metal similar to the ones you like maybe try

Panopticon - Kentucky kind of similar to WITTR but mixed with country (its better than that sounds)
The Eye - Supremacy sort of cheating here since its the same guy from Blut aus Nord, but its more similar to Ultima Thulee than any BaN album
Paysage D'hiver - Schattengang more winter-y bmetal similar to Ultima Thulee
Sarcofago - Rotting
Samael - Ceremony of Opposites These last two are the first two that came to mind when trying to think of The Dwelling comparables.. So maybe youll like them.

ill leave it at this for now haha you seem to have a lot on your plate already

And they're not really metal, but still pretty heavy psych rooted in early Sabbath, so you might like White Hills

Great pick! Also, Dead Meadows entire catalog kicks ass in a similar vein.

I know that, I've already been acquiring what I haven't heard. Was just wondering if there was anything else. Hoping there might be a few more obscure records pop up that I could check out.

Wow! I've never met anyone with such a prodigious appetite for any genre never mind metal!!! 🤣

Hope you get your fill. Peace.

It's just a style of music I know far too little about, having probably only heard around 100 metal albums (which, considering the huge breadth of metal out there, is pathetic). Plus I'm going to see an old friend at the weekend, a big metalhead, and hopefully I'll actually be able to recommend him some stuff for once instead of the other way round. But, most importantly I guess, I've just been in the mood to listen to some heavy shit recently. Cheers for the recs everybody. Just throwing on Panopticon's Kentucky now, having just listened to Swordwielder's debut Grim Visions of Battle from last year, which I really recommend. It's dope.

Awesome. Glad you liked it. All obvious favoritism aside, it's one of the most beautiful records I've heard in the past 10 years.

For a similar vibe, James Blackshaw and John Fahey are the absolute best.

Yea, it seems to be awesome by first impression, it's a pity it is so unfamous. Thank you for the other recs, I'll check them out.
