Starting with listening to this on vinyl because it was one of my purchases from yesterday's event. I was super stoked to get this. It's like shoegaze before shoegaze even became a thing.
I'm not finished with Psychocandy, but my record player is in the living room and I'm taking care of some stuff on my computer, so I'll get back to it. I know "don't stop half-way through!" oh well, I've heard it many times before, so that's no big deal. I keep seeing the re-issue for this at every store but I can't find a damn copy of Heaven or Las Vegas, Victorialand or Treasure. ๐ This is still pretty good though. I like Treasure the most still.
I learned more about my dad's music taste. Apparently he really liked Sade. Now that I listen to this album, I recognize hearing so many of these songs growing up. Holy crap, haha. I never knew who was singing them. He frequently listened to music like this and tons of smooth jazz. This is a wonderful, calm, love album. I need to get this on vinyl, wish I still had his original copies but my mom trashed all of his records. ๐ I can also relate to many of the lyrics in this song. I'm tired of falling for someone and then getting shit on. I'm pretty good at that. I've tried, and tried, and tried to avoid it but then someone always comes along and pulls at my heart strings, I love my sense of self and then do stupid crap. I hope I can avoid it this time, it's already starting to get bad and I'm 100% certain it's unrequited.
More Sade and once again, I know all of the songs on this album. I always wondered who sang "Smooth Operator" because I heard that song at least 100 times growing up. I'm that much more excited to get my saxophone tattoo in memory of my dad! I'm so glad I discovered Sade!
5:00PM PST Vampire Weekend Modern Vampires of the City
Saturday....I've kinda stopped posting the descriptions...not because I can't write them but because it seems like after day one nobody cared anymore, should I even continue? lol. Am I that boring? My bad.
Great ULL, possibly the most personal too, so far. It's a bit too post-90s for me, but it's refreshing and passionate. Hope you post one for the last day, though I can imagine how time consuming this is ๐
I'll go back and add detailed descriptions, include some albums I forgot to post and do today's then.
Suggest some stuff that's pre-90s. I posted my queue on the first page, so let me know if anything on there should be listened to ASAP. ๐ _________________
