I've always liked Has-Lo a lot, he's a wordy, nimble rapper who manages to be completely relatable much of the time, whilst touching on some relatively heavy topics. He's pretty much the definition of a headphone rapper, which I'm all for. That said, this sounds different - it's clearer, more forceful, more lighthearted. It's dope. He's capable of doing whatever he likes, really. Don't know a whole lot about Castle, but this is nice. Not sonically progressive in any way, but if you like soulful loops and technical, accessible raps then chances are you'll enjoy this. Not sure if these comparisons are going to mean anything to people around here, but if you like Quelle Chris or Murs or possibly even Open Mike Eagle then I recommend this to you.
