O what a disappointment. Whoever thought it would be a bright idea to drown any personality Womack might still retain in a sea of triphop/downtempo arrangements that were outdated ten years prior to this release deserves public spanking; two tracks are good ("Love Is Gonna Lift You Up" at least wakes you up, however cheesy it might sound), the rest sounds as if the executive producers in the company makers of this record were trying to chase on Scott-Heron's I'm New Here critical acclaim, but by not investing too much in it.
For good Bobby see The Poet, for good challenging heartfelt soul legends comebacks see I'm New Here. How this barely above average record got so much acclaim is beyond me.
