Cecil Taylor makes Trout Mask and The Pop Group sound like easy listening. In comparison to trying to get through Eldorado, Silent Tongues was pretty easy on the ears and a welcome tonic. Taylor's Unit Structures has been blowing my mind over the past couple of weeks though. Silent Tongues Silent Tongues by Cecil Taylor Veedon Fleece is my favourite Morrison album, and probably my favourite album left in this tournament. I love Popol Vuh, but easy vote to Van here. I'm with Skinny. I've recently fallen in love with Veedon Fleece. It's Astral Weeks part 2. This is what I've been trying to say for fucking years, to anybody who'll listen. Moondance is awesome, but Veedon Fleece is clearly the rightful heir to Astral Weeks' throne and the title of Van's best album. I still prefer Astral Weeks, but the to albums have an extremely similar feel. And that smooth double bass surely doesn't hurt. They're both two of the best albums ever made, but I have to be in the right mood for Astral Weeks, whereas I can put on Veedon Fleece at any time and be instantly transported.
