Full disclosure. It's going to be impossible for me to write objectively about these two artists. One artist is one of my all-time favorites, the other represents a genre I'm not really that into. So, less said the better.
Anyway, here are the two albums.
Silent Tongues by Cecil Taylor, nominated by Kool Keith Sweat.
Eldorado, A Symphony By The Electric Li... Orchestra, nominated by Basdewit97.

Cecil Taylor makes Trout Mask and The Pop Group sound like easy listening.

Anything but ELO. That said, I'm probably being a bit unfair on Taylor there by suggesting it was a default, anti-ELO position, when I did enjoy his record. It's not my favourite jazz album in the tournament, but it was still cool. Vote to Taylor. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

Yeah, Eldorado's the first of two albums that I've really disliked so far in this tourney. And they both happen to be in the same batch as I'm currently trying to figure out which album I like less - this or Crime of The Century. It's quite a battle. But, I think Eldorado's going to take it. There are probably more moments on Eldorado that are just flat out funny.
In comparison to trying to get through Eldorado, Silent Tongues was pretty easy on the ears and a welcome tonic. Taylor's Unit Structures has been blowing my mind over the past couple of weeks though.

You guys are no fun. What's not to love about totally over the top AOR prog pop?
Well, it's not exactly ELO's best but I kind of love it.
Cecil Taylor may be agreater, but ELO's attempt to be the 70s version of the Beatles is something I've always appreciated for whatever reason. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

Eldorado. Brilliant, Especially the opening two tracks and the finale.

Voted for Eldorado. Silent Tongues is not my kind of jazz... too free, abstract, technical...COLD. _________________ "And can’t you see you’re in on it?

Vote to Silent Tongues. I enjoy Eldorado quite a bit mainly because it's fun, but Silent Tongues impresses me. It's my kind of jazz.
