(I'm new here so I dont know if posts like this are allowed or just unnecessary. Please tell me if this isn't welcome!) Through YouTube I've become obsessed with this fascinating album, Zaireeka. I just don't know what to think of it! It's like nothing I've ever heard before. I'm curious if anyone's ever heard it the way it was intended: through four stereo systems. If so, do you have a story? I really wanna buy a fourth CD player and try this out
Yeah I did it once. Grabbed my parents' car stereos, my laptop, and a portable iPod stereo and listened in wonder. Needless to say all the levels were fucked up but I think that's the beauty of Zaireeka, no listen is exactly the same and it still manages to sound great even with delays.

Yeah, Zaireeka is great, but I'd rather stick to my cheap stereo mixdown than to spend around โฌ250-โฌ300 to get four discs that might not be available in my country and three other CD players. You're pretty crazy if you have already done that. ๐ _________________

nah man if you have friends who are all into it, then getting totally mashed and having Zaiereeka parties with your friends' crappy CD players scattered across your living room is like the best thing ever

Yeah it's pretty dumb but I've found it possible to get the records to sync up surprisingly easy, plus it's fun to make your own lossless mix of the album if you hook up your player to a good audio program.
This is a social album, but I lack the music fan friends to make this social event happen. Sadfaec
On the other hand, I listened to mixdowns and prefer it to any of the other new age Flaming Lips albums, yes even Soft Bulletin. I also listened to discs two and four through laptop and phone+offear headphones combo. It was empty sounding but pretty good.
