Ive been addicted to Stray Trolleys (and by extension the cleaners from venus) for the last couple of days. I think I have listened to secrets of a kitchen porter like 10 times since Friday

Not my normal fare but they have the perfect amount of roughness to their recordings that i love

Let's talk trap

Is anyone here into any of trap or trap rap?

If so, who are your favorite artists and what about the genre(s) interest you?

sicko mobb are pretty great. though they sound way too cheery for me to really call them trap as I understand the genre... feel like "pop trap" works better if that's even a thing

also Kevin Gates obv

🥰

I'm a massive Gates fan, and I love what I've heard from Sicko Mobb.

Do you dig Chief Keef, Lil Herb, Jeezy, etc.? (you know what I'm talking about)

I like Keef so long as I can just listen without paying attention to the lyrics, and Jeezy is pretty great. Haven't really heard much Lil Herb. And and have you heard Doe B? Dude is awesome, (RIP). Oh and T.I. has his moments of dopeness

For sure! I've heard of the name, but I really need to get on a project.

You'd love Lil Herb, he's one of the best out right now! Did you listen to his tape last year? It's

Welcome To Fazoland by Lil Herb

Great stuff!

I love a lot of the "mainstream" artists like 2 Chainz, Future, and Young Thug too.

and of course the cloudy stuff is right down my alley!

Do you listen to Travi$ Scott? He dropped Days Before Rodeo last year and it's interesting to say the least

I'll get on Herb for sure, and anything involving Young Thug is cool by me. Eh yeah I've heard Scott, can't say I've really liked what I've heard, which is extra awkward seeing as he's actually buddies with a friend of mine and I could probably meet him if I wanted 🫢

How many of your favorite artists have you seen live? I have been to Manic Street Preachers and Against Me! plus a few others although none which I liked or can call favorites 🤔 I could add Idlewild to the list in a few weeks although

If I may be frank, I think Trap Rap is one of the stupidest genres ever. Not one of the worst (That's relegated to shit like crunkcore and nazi punk), but rather one of the most mindless.

Even so, I'll admit I can get down to trap as a guilty pleasure, because it's some of the easiest music to dance to. This especially applies to Hot Nigga (big surprise) so that song is a highlight of trap for me. On the other hand of the same spectrum of trap, Lil Reese is a bit too moronic for my tastes (In Us, 50% of the time he completely fails to rhyme, and even when he does the song is still stupid as shit), OT Genasis is absolutely horrid, and if you even consider it trap, iLoveMakonnen gives me post-traumatic stress disorder for reasons I won't go into.
