Anyway, Nacho, to repay you for that wonderful experience, I grant you with this zane-y Shibuya-Kei album:

Cartooom! by Plus-Tech Squeeze Box

I have intended to listen to this, but then it wasn't on Spotify, so I pushed it to the side, anyways I found it on grooveshark, listening to it now, will edit in a review below

Yes! This was brilliant, reminded me a lot of Fantasma, I loved all of the jumps and ADDness of the record as a whole. Definitely going to revist this one soon, thanks Hazey!

Knife Man by Andrew Jackson Jihad

Finished! I enjoyed it a lot but I can't find myself ever loving. Lyrically, it's not so much that it's one dimensional or fake (in fact it's heartbreakingly honest in the way that I feel many teenagers could relate) but I feel like every time they hit on a great lyrical moment it was ruined by inserting some silly little rhyming cliche. My favourite example of this was: "You're an irreplaceable human soul with your own ideas about what it means to suffer... and that's a huge bummer." Perhaps I'm over analyzing it but I feel like those lines overstayed their welcome. Musically it's solid too but nothing I would call exceedingly great.

The Album Formerly Known As 8-Legged Dance Moves by Bubblegum Octopus

Wasn't my album but glad I listened to this. First impressions are scattered but I think I liked this. It's coldly alienating at first but I love how the album becomes something more warm and fun as time goes on. The album ends on a really fun, pulsating high note that feels like the reward after completing a challenging task. Lots of beautiful individual moments that make for a really fascinating piece on the whole.

Anyway Nachos I'm giving you this:

Streethawk: A Seduction by Destroyer

because I know you haven't listened to it yet and I think you'll really like it.

Really subtly beautiful post-rock album. String crescendos galore but nothing overtly cheesy. Very simple, peaceful progressions. Not blown away but I definitely think I like ๐Ÿ˜„ (thanks Kiki)

Sealed With A Kiss by Alpaca Sports

I'll try my best to listen to the ones you left for me tomorrow, as soon as I give them a list I'll edit in a review here

Soyokaze Apartment 201 by Lamp

Review: I am enjoying this quite a bit, nice jazzy shibuya-kei. Borrows heavily from other things I've heard, kinda like a Japanese version of Getz/Gilberto, very nice. ๐Ÿ˜ If I was to have one small complaint, and this may sound weird, as a whole it may have been a bit too cohesive, when I listen to Japanese music, I usually expect it to be completely ADD, and this well, you know it wasn't that. Still loved it tho...

The Album Formerly Known As by Bubblegum Octopus

Review: Nope. Nope. I'll revist this when my migraines go away, I really can't do an album like this when I'm sick...
