Here's the scenario. I'm looking at a thread related to an album tournament, one with a poll attached. Unfortunately, my login has timed out or something, and when I click on the link, it doesn't recognize me as me, as someone who hasn't voted yet.

Since it concludes that I'm a generic user, it shows me the results of the poll. This can be frustrating if I'm working my way through ten albums (e.g. for the BYT2 tournament), but I haven't made my decision yet. If one side has a huge lead, sure I'll vote anyway, but knowing that it won't matter takes all the fun out of it.

Can anything be done about this? Or do I just have to be super careful that I'm logged in before I click on something?

You should probably just do this. Save albummaster a bit of time.

Is it solipsistic in here or is it just me?

I think this is the main issue really, and it's been brought up a few times, I know AM is aware of it and probably is gonna do something about it. Were you on mobile? That's generally where I have login issues.

I don't mind logging in again (and I know it can be a bit complex to try to fix something like that). A button that says "Click to show poll results" would do the trick.

Now, if you're logged in, and you've voted, sure, show the poll results as it is now. But guests (and other people that are not recognized as having logged on) might want to vote without knowing the final answer.

To answer the above question, I'm working from an office desktop.

Just added a link under the poll results to enable you to view a poll if you've not already voted. (Guests are not shown poll options as they are not allowed to vote in polls). I'm not sure why you'd be getting logged out on a desktop PC (I'm aware of an issue on Safari). If you could let me know which browser you are using, I'll investigate.
