Power Metal's Hospice, at least lyrically and thematically. It isn't as down to earth or subtle as The Antlers take on cancer but it is certainly emotional, impactful, perhaps important for the genre. It's probably one of the best releases for power metal in the year so far, and it has some big competition (Wind Rose, Blind Guardian) too.
Their best outing since Hypermagic Mountain, really pleasant surprise given Zach Hill has been insane for the last few years.
Unless sth has changed - and it doesn't sound like it - Zach Hill isn't the drummer for Lighting Bolt. (He's the drummer for Hella). Brian Chippendale's the drummer for Lightning Bolt. BUT, in all fairness, he's pretty crazy too though! 🤣
edit: Now that I think about it, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Chippendale went insane. Is that who you meant, Gowi, and if, so, what happened?! He was always really nice if aloof back in the 90s when I knew him from Providence's small scene.

Insomnia is hell of a drug. No, I meant Zach Hill, but sometimes I get the two confused since they follow the same sort of drumming circles and have similar influences. Also, I haven't slept in quite a few hours.
