I'd like to listen to some metal, but the hoarse, yelled vocals are slightly off-putting. Can anyone suggest transitional albums for a post-hardcore, post-rock, noise rock fan? I don't know if this is metal, but I really enjoy Boris's Amplifier Worship, especially "Hama".

On a side-note, you should also check out trip-hop if you haven't already. My favorite albums from this genre would be Blue Lines and Mezzanine by Massive Attack, Dummy and Third by Portishead, Homogenic by Bjork and Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow.

First off, I wholeheartedly second Mr. Fingers' Ammnesia. Even though it's a compilation of early 12" singles, it just contains some of the most soulful, most vital house music ever made.
I don't know how much you're familiar with, but here are some things that you really ought to check out...
Basically the blueprint for modern techno, though how much direct influence it actually had is pretty debatable. How much you enjoy it will probably depend on your tolerance for repetition, but it's essential listening. Beautiful simplicity.
Maybe a bit of a long shot - might be too minimal for you. Their 2009 album, Atavism, is a bit more varied, and certainly plays more with time structures, so if there's even the slightest bit of interest in them you should also check that out.
All of the above are things I think you'll enjoy based on your chart and what you've said on the forums in recent days. Didn't know whether to go heavy on the classics or not. A lot of these are releases from the last couple of years, but they sprung to mind as things you'd enjoy. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.
