I picked up a six eye copy of Sketches of Spain about 2 weeks ago but have been too busy to sit down with it. Probably will relax with it tomorrow, it's one of my favorite Miles Davis albums.
Well I'm by no means an expert but I have always heard the old Columbia pressings are the best. I'm not an audiophile so I couldn't vouch one way or the other. But the six eye refers to the label. From the little bit I researched a few months ago the old Columbia vinyls have three logo eyes on the left and three on the right. I think at some point they switched to four total, so there are "four eyes" as well. Guess aside from the sound it just makes it easier to narrow down when the copy was pressed.
I already knew it, and liked it. Upon this recent re-listening though, I thought it was even cooler than I used to give it credit for. Very good indeed.

However, I could be 100% wrong.
My CD has 6 eye symbols on it, though the fact that it is a CD and not an LP negates any possible benefit ๐คฃ _________________ Top 100 Greatest Music Albums
