Does anybody have any country music recommendations for me? It's a genre I really know nothing about. I like John Moreland and Jason Isbell quite a bit, and Kacey Musgraves is pretty decent. I do not like any of that typical country music you hear on the radio about beer, chevy trucks, and tractors.

So any recommendations based on that? :)
Jimmie Rodgers, Jenks "Tex" Carman, Buell Kazee, The Carter Family, DeZurik Sisters, Carl T. Sprague, and The Louvin Brothers are all quite good. I enjoy albums from all of them. I have always threatened to get a little bit better versed in country, but here are some singles I've also enjoyed from various eras:

Not sure if they fit your description but here are three that I've really enjoyed lately:

Thank you very much, I will look into each of those artists.

Trying to get Musicbee set up, but it seems to freeze really easily when I try to add album artwork and such. Really disappointing and annoying, 'cause it seems really ideal at this point to be able to sort my library by multiple filters, have multiple genre tags, etc. Maybe I'll try to downsize my library for the first time in a long time so it can accommodate me.
still a work in progress, but i've managed to get it to kind of accept what i'm trying to do with it now that i've cut down the library i'm trying to feed it to ~1000 albums

Maybe your computer specs aren't quite coping with what you're feeding the programme? I've never had any problems, and found Musicbee to handle large collections better than most alternatives. Then again, I have built up my library an album at a time, rather than all at once.
I'm really digging the "Dark Metro Series" skins. I love the flat colours, and I've always thought that a dark background compliments album art much better than white (I was so disappointed when they removed this from iTunes). Also I found I hardly used the left sidebar, so I set it to auto-hide - get even more artwork on screen that way!
