Another edition of "what new releases is Alex excited to check out"

Vom Grill - Knerpen! (Bevel) (whoa surprise release from PAN, I don't know anything about it but they are on a serious hot streak)
Julia Holter - Have You In My Wilderness (still haven't even listened to the leak, was saving it)
Grischa Lichtenberger - LA DEMEURE / il y a peril en la demeure
Molly Nilsson - Zenith
Laurel Halo - In Situ
Steve Hauschildt - Where All Is Fled

and probably more that I'm missing cause holy wow there are a lot of releases for tomorrow (although technically today because it's tomorrow in other time zones so shit is for sale now).

Alex, maybe I missed it, but have you sampled the new OPN leak? I'm still mulling it over a lot, as I tend to do with Lopatin's material.

oh yeah, I'm slacking tho and it took me an hour after it leaked to realize it had leaked. Can already feel my fingers slipping from the pulse. But yeah I find the album very compelling but I'm a bit hesitant about the first half right now, I feel like I'm going to need a lot of time with it before I know how to really say anything about it.

editing in some thoughts on things:

Zenith by Molly Nilsson

This is pretty good. If you remember the song on the last John Maus album "Hey Moon", Nilsson wrote that. I'm not as familiar with her material as I should be but this new album of hers has a lot of reverby songs on here (not as heavy as that Maus album but still, it's a thing). The synths and drum machines also go a bit heavy into the one dated sound that's kinda popular again, I think she puts a distinct spin on it and backs everything up with some catchy tunes. Give it a listen.

From Here To Ear by Cรฉleste Boursier-Mougenot

So this came out on cassette in June and I couldn't find a digital copy but I guess its on amazon now for like 2 bucks? That doesn't seem right but the last time I got a cassette it got stuck in my player and now I can't play any cassettes. But yeah so this is a recording of an art installation where some guitars were set up so birds could play them. This recording seems to have one of the guitars set up with a delay feedback thing that sort of forces the birds to create more regular music which I think is a little unfortunate but overall it's still some pretty compelling stuff I'd say. Check out this video of something not on the album but from the installation, these birds shred.

New Bermuda by Deafheaven

Is stellar. Such a worthy follow-up to Sunbather.

Oh huh, I really like that Le Orme song Ad Gloriam. Need to check more of their stuff. That's so weird, curious to hear this album with Cool Pope.
