Seriously, stellar album. Just what the ears needed. And the artwork is a feast for my eyes (excluding the font choice).
I just pre-ordered the vinyl.
I really want to enjoy Deafheaven because they seem to be one of very few metal bands that pick beautiful album covers. Unfortunately, while I quite enjoy the instrumentation on this record, I just can't find enjoyment in the black metal vocals.
I definitely need to revisit past Kurt Vile releases because I was never very interested by what I had heard from him. This one totally turned me around. I listened to it for probably the fifth time today and it's a solid release. I just slipped it into my top ten so far this year. _________________ Overall - The 2010's - 2020

1st listen for me and yes it's another good album from him. I really like Kurt Vile but with all his albums I can't help but feel if he really wanted too he could take his music to the next level. I just don't feel like he's showing us everything he's got if that makes any sense to you?
