One of the best post-rock albums I've ever heard, absolutely gorgeous and extremely emotionally invigorating, it's just about everything I could want out of a post-rock album.

Really wore this CD out in high school. Some funky Russian influences on the balalaika. Sounds similar to Weezer. The guitar work is top notch, even if the lyrics leave a little bit to be desired. Plus the Tetris song cover is an all time great.
So if anyone ever asks me what's my favourite Live album of all time? This is my answer.
Captures the band in 1980 at the peak of their powers just after the release of their masterpiece Machine Gun Etiquette. Killer track listing and just makes you wish you were there.
Marshall Crenshaw- Field Day
A singer/songwriter of the new wave era. His debut album is quite well known and acclaimed but the follow up is just as good. If you love Buddy Holly/Beatles and a bit of 80s pop I'm sure you'll dig this.

The Manikins- Crocodiles
A Swedish garage rock band from the 00's. Their other albums are alright but there isn't a bad song on this one and you can happily listen to this from beginning to end. Catchy and enjoyable garage rock.
Highlights: Hangin from a noose; crocodiles; it's not the wind you hear

The Mice- Scooter
The most underrated band I know and the most underrated album I know. Exquisite power pop with glorious punk rock vitality. The story goes that they were due to go on a big tour to become a more widely known band but the frontman/songwriter backed out and left the band. Which is a huge shame because I'm sure they would have put out even more great music for the world to listen to.
Highlights: little rage; not proud of the usa; crystal silence (note: other good songs by them not on the album: rescue you too, guarding you, struck me paralysed)

The Queers- Don't Back Down
I've always seen these guys as the next best thing to the Ramones. Their album 'Love songs for the retarded' is well loved by the punk rock community but 'Don't back down' is often overlooked. It's just a blast to listen to, insanely catchy too.
Highlights: I only drink bud; love, love, love; no tit
The Go Gos- Talk show
They're one of the best pop groups ever and this is their most pop album but it still has a new wave and 60s feel. Some filler but the highlights outweigh way all that.
Highlights: head over heels; turn to you; yes or no

Teenage Head- Teenage Head
Often thought of as Canadas answer to The Ramones. One of the most fun albums I've ever heard and gloriously catchy.
