I was supposed to see Jason Aldean yesterday, but it ended up being the worst fucking night ever. I just blew $60 on a ticket to a concert that I couldn't even get in because my friend was too drunk to move. Plus other shit happened and now I'm at such a low point right now. I don't know what to do now. I've downed myself to public venting to an online forum that I'm hardly a part of.

^^^ To me, if your friend was a real friend, they wouldn't have ruined the night for you. Were you not able to go by yourself?

God bless you always!!! ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜„

Of Montreal just a few hours ago. Not one of my favorite bands, but I like them enough to pay 15 dollars. It was a good show.

Got done with a week and a half of good shows last night. Saw Godspeed with Xylouris White last Monday; Godspeed was good and the violinist, back bassist, and drummer were great to watch, playing mostly their last two albums; I had no idea who the opener was, even made comments that he moved and sounded like Jim White, only to realize the next day I had seen one of my favorite drummers. Then saw (with Saoirse) Jenny Hval with Briana Marela and local act Cross Record; Brianna was passable, Cross Record were amateur but showed a lot of potential and I'll be looking into them, and then Jenny Hall was pretty phenomenal. Then saw Wovenhand and Chelsea Wolfe; I'm not the biggest fan of Wovenhand's newer sound but watching the frontman perform was a treat; Chelsea Wolfe was horrible. Then saw Swervedriver and Dearly Beloved, both of which were good; the bassist of dearly beloved was a real treat to watch and the group had a lot of energy; wouldn't be surprised of Jack has slept with the singer.and last night I caught Thundercat, who is always a treat; Thundercat on tour is more of a jazz fusion group than anything else and he has a knack for finding superb keyboardist and drummers to play with that improvise very very well together. My favorite bits were definitely Godspeed, White, Hval, and Thundercat. Next shows are local group Golden Dawn Arkestra, Battles, and then Autechre, all in early October

went to a local all day music festival here in Santa Fe. Most of the acts were local with a couple national acts who aren't well known. It was rather good. Highlights were a dude named Heavy Breather who was a weird mix of Mike Patton's vocal experimentations and the Books electro acoustic collages, and Lonesome Leash was incredible. Lonesome Leash is a member of Dark Dark Dark, and an amazing one man band (plays accordion, drums, trumpet and sings).

As usual, I was there as a photographer. Here's a few of my favorite captures of the day

My giddy aunt - I'm at the Fireworks/Garlands gig in Hackney as we speak and The Garlands were TERRIFIC! And I might be just that I'm a tincy wincy bit pissed but it's the best gig I've been to all year. So much so that I've bought my sister in twee from over the sea a copy of their debut LP. Plus FREE WINE!! What a time to be alive!!

Will do mate! The Garlands S/T LP is probably my fave record of the 2010s. In fact I just bumped into the lead singer outside and told her as much. She probably thinks I'm some sort of crazy fanboy.

She'd be right, of course.

Just got back from a free show that Daniel Romano played at my neighborhood bar in Houston.

I just discovered his music last week and lo and behold hes playing down the street! It was a great show, and local band, Buxton, was there checking it out as well. got to chat with both acts for bit. just a hell of sunday! (despite one drunk female Cowboys fan)

If you havent heard the people im referring to, check out both of the albums below!

If I've Only One Time Askin' by Daniel Romano

Nothing Here Seems Strange by Buxton

This weekend I saw Kraftwerk (who were good for $30 Orchestra seats but certainly not $100) and Autechre (who were awesome for $22)

I recommend Autechre of the two shows, though both are good for not crazy prices.
