If I were to pick 5 that represented the decade more objectively:
1. Aeroplane - NMH
2. Mellon Collie - Pumpkins
3. Odelay - Beck
4. Battle of LA - RATM
5. Bee Thousand - GBV
6. Pinkerton - Weezer

I am getting seriously sick of people thinking OK Computer is the best album of the 90s let alone of all time. To each his own, but I disagree.

Some of the other picks here are interesting and I am still realising that I missed some good music from this decade. Only last week I listened to Geek the Girl for the first time ever.

Dig Your Own Hole is on my chart Best Albums that BEA Users Forgot, out of the top 1000 on the site, #248 in the 1990's on this site.

This is apropos of the opening comment in this thread, in case you think I'm rambling.

Any list that tries to objectively represent popular music in the 1990s should include hip-hop.

im sorry but Morphine Cure For Pain has gotta be the most under rated bands and album of the 90's...2 string bass...sax...and a drummer...the sound is fkn amazing...it simply amazes me how few people know this album/band...i just wanna knock some sense into u biatches...

If you were looking at it with non-bias (see: objective) you wouldn't be so quick to dismiss OK Computer. So the whole "looking at it objectively..." is full of crap in this instance.
