P.S. This is the last album from him, released in 2009, and I got it in the mail yesterday.



It being named his first gospel album gives me the impression that making at least one more had been his every intention.

Supposed to be Xmas shopping but as always popped into a record shop as a welcome distraction from the queues for hot water bottles and the like, and got the following 3 for ยฃ15 from Ben's in Guildford (which is simultaneously a goldmine and absolute gash in equal measure):

Original UK press - seems to be rarer of the two '75 issues with light blue Arista labels. Great nick too.

All UK 1st presses except for Secret Shine which is a new reissue on Saint Marie Records. Bummed is the embossed cover which was a nice surprise as it was listed on Discogs as the standard version.

That Close Lobsters album is so good, great pressing as well. The other two are on my want list. Great price for those 3 albums.

Plucked out the bargain bin at People in Guildford. Never heard it before so looking forward to giving it a listen.


3 Feet High And Rising by De La Soul

Original UK press - only bought as it was in great nick and a steal at ยฃ5.


Come Away With ESG by ESG

Been after this for ages - finally tracked it down on Discogs for around ยฃ20 which sounds extortionate, especially when you consider it's the repress on Soul Jazz. Then again it's widely considered to be the best pressing available, and from listening to it I can see why.

How have I not owned my favorite jazz album on vinyl, yet? I ordered it from Newbury because their exclusive is sexy. 180g dark blue marbling.

Just waiting for a shit ton of records to ship to my house now...
