NWA are easily the best of those artists. That said, the rock and roll hall of fame means squat. _________________

Cheap Trick |
Only good artist there, also why does anyone care about the R&RHOF anymore |

I guess the only thing that can be said about NWA is that if Public Enemy and Grandmaster Flash are in, they need to be too. |
Uh, no that's not the only thing that can be said about NWA. They're one of the most influencial Hip-Hop groups ever and were at the birth of the West Coast scene. Don't really know where I'm going with this, but to just dismiss them when praising an artist like Cheap Trick is laughable.[/quote]
Sorry, misunderstood what you were getting at. I totally agree that NWA deserve all possible accolades. And yeah they are one of the greatest and heaviest rap artists of all time. That's what I've been trying to tell everyone who is dismissing them because they aren't "Rock n Roll". _________________ Attention all planets of the solar federation: We have assumed control.

To ignore Deep Purple, Cheap Trick, and Chicago's impact to rock history & influence because you don't like them is pretty inane.

I think that's my main point behind this thread. The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame (to me) does not matter much in the long run, but it had a lot to do with respect toward an artist. I mean, regardless of what anyone thinks of Kiss, who has been more successful longer than Kiss? I think the Hall of Fame is a nice homage for a great career and like you said Purple, Cheap Trick, and Chicago had great careers and made a huge impact. _________________ Attention all planets of the solar federation: We have assumed control.

I used to be dead interested in it but honestly, no it really doesn't.
It's choices aren't particularly representative either. Minor acts like The Lovin' Spoonful and Percy Sledge (who had literally one song of note) are in but hugely influential groups like Kraftwerk and The Smiths aren't.
Really it's all a bit daft. _________________

I just wish they'd put John Fahey in the R&RHoF.
