You've just been to my hometown Jim, funnily enough I actually rented the flat above the hairdressers which is above vinyl vault, used to be called Browsers Paradise back then around 1996 I think. Used to love living there as it had a balcony so you'd be sat there and see friends all the time who were popping into Browsers. Also there used to be a pub next door which was handy, can't remember what it was called though amazingly as I spent a fair few hours of my life in there.
More recently Vinyl Vault is where a friend of mine sourced my copy of PJ Harvey's Rid of Me. I must pop in next time I'm down visiting family.
Small world, eh? And funny 'cos I did think of you whilst browsing when I saw this:
It's the third time I've been there but the first time I've bought anything. The shop above is now a 'shabby chic' vintage clothing store. Annoyingly Rise has just closed down (John Lewis are developing the centre where Debenhams is) but Badlands is still going strong. It certainly is a small world...yes I heard Rise had closed down which is a shame. How much were they selling the PJ album for?
Original Brunswick Mono Press. A fiver from Gumtree. Mint value? £600. This one's a bit beaten up but sounds chuffing good with only a little bit of crackle. Reckon £150's worth.
