So I've got an early version of my 2016 chart up, recs are most welcome. The early leader being:

Soft Days by Sea Pinks
Sea Pinks are an indie/fuzzy/noise pop band from Belfast who've been carving out a wonderful reputation for themselves over the past few years and it's great to see them beginning to get some recognition from the music press and on an international scale. Indie pop is thriving in Ireland (both north and south of the border) over the past few years and Sea Pinks are one of the forerunners in this, equally recommend their last release:

There's also a few earlier releases that have yet to be added to BEA that'll get around to. But yeah, wonderful stuff, in what has been a surprisingly strong start to 2016. _________________
Good shout on the Sea Pinks, Pat. They press their LPs in ridiculously limited quantities (normally no more than 300 at a time - think all bar Soft Days went a long time ago). First decent indie-pop LP of 2016, this. _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing Folk 'n Stuff SHAMELESS RECORD DEALER PLUG

300 is a lot even by their standards, some of their earlier stuff had only 50-100 LPs pressed, all of which are long gone, 53 copies currently remaining of those 300 for Soft Days according to their Bandcamp page, great to see them getting bigger! Great start to the year for indie pop and music in general! _________________
2016 is coming along nicely as of now. A few more things have caught my interest:
Such as this excellent live recording of Courtney Barnett at New York's Electric Lady Studios, a worthwhile 25 minutes or so for fans of her last release.
This, which I've subtly stolen from Jim's log (top class as always!) and will be hitting the dizzying heights of my top 10 of the year thus far after a few more listens and my next update:
And this, which deserves a punt as it's my favourite homegrown album of the year so far (Unless you count Sea Pinks, which I kinda do), containing a lovely mix of blues and folk rock.
Aside from 2016, other stuff on my radar lately includes a lot of traditional folk music from Ireland, something I'm slowly working on a chart for, as well as blasting out my Belle & Seb/Joni Mitchell/Pogues records on a consistent basis. _________________

Thanks for highlighting this album, it's a really good one, lively, jangly and definitely my cup of tea. _________________ Always shouts out something obscene

Great to hear you're enjoying it! These may also be of interest, albums that generally have some of the same ideas, blending indie pop with fuzzy, noise pop and containing jangliness in it, to a certain extent, all wonderful albums.

Thanks again ! Will check them out gradually. _________________ Always shouts out something obscene
I'm enjoying this one, especially the tongue-in-cheek 1960s touch to some tracks (like A Bad Example). Once again, good stuff, cheers ๐ _________________ Always shouts out something obscene

Great to hear you're enjoying it, needs a bit more love around BEA, think I'm the only one who's charted it as of now. You may be interested to know that their follow up album, I Feel Magic, is out in 2 weeks (February 19th) and should be worth a listen, I may even prefer the first track they've released from it (Lemonade, it's up on Bandcamp) more than anything off People Are Weird. It's coming across a bit more poppier at the moment. _________________
Just saw this and thought of you. Haven't managed to find any of the tracks on it yet to stream but looking forward to giving it a spin. Let me know if you find anything! _________________ 'Reggae' & t'ing Folk 'n Stuff SHAMELESS RECORD DEALER PLUG
