Anthems actually trumps every song on Hot Fuss. But Hot Fuss has 6 great songs, whereas the other only has 2, and a bunch of other garbage.

Disregard Hayden, he/she is a (Great) Canadian.
You Forgot It in People all the much more artistically credible, and much more ambitious than Hot Fuss, which I think was just kind of derivative, especially seeing as Coldplay had made a very similar album in scope two years prior. Not to mention, Hot Fuss takes that irritating pop-music route of putting all the singles at the beginning, which shifts focus away from the album as a whole. The only real good decision they made in putting that album together was putting Everything Will Be Alright at the end, because it's a fantastic closer. |
Don't get me wrong, i still like BSS, it's just Hot Fuss is imo is better. Ya, the Killers haven't made anything good since, and it is pop-rock, but that doesn't make it worthless. The occasional good song gets put on the radio, from Arcade Fire, Coldplay, The Strokes. As for the album have the hits at the beginning, just think about Nevermind (mind you, that album is miles better than Hot Fuss), where the first 5 songs are the best on the album as well. |

Alright, but I think In Utero was put together better as an album, because it didn't just resort to putting all the singles at the beginning, and I think Nevermind could have been a better album had it done the same thing, amazing as it is nonetheless. |
Fair do's. I think the band understood that as well, that's why they constructed In Utero as it is. Still wish Bleach was just as well thought out 😕 Still can't manage to like that album.
