I've only heard Belomancie and I quite like that one. How does it compare?

Neither can I. Though I want to pay special attention to Ginnel's 'A Country Life" (Sprawling and beautiful Lo-fi Irish Pop) & La Sera's - brand new (or relatively) - Music For Listening To Music To (Much of the same; except it being from that North-Western U.S. indie scene and that it incorporates other elements like Power Pop, Folk, Psychedelia and touches on, Dream Pop).

You're already cool in my book if you're recommending this.

Salesmen And Racists by Ike Reilly

One of the great unknown American songwriters of our time. Ike Reilly got one shot with a major label, who released this and didn't do shit to promote it. Now, he does everything his way. He's a star in Chicago, and he's loved by those who have made the discovery. He's championed by Tom Morello and Shooter Jennings and should be big. Too bad it's never happened. This one has great songs like "Hip Hop Thighs", "Duty Free", "Commie Drives A Nova", and exactly ten more worth your trouble.

Um I can't let it go unnoticed. But I'm pretty sure, you rec'd it to me last year on another forum. So all credit and "coolness" belongs with you, still a brilliant album though.

Hard to describe; On Patrol has more of an epic feel to it IMO.

Utakata No Hibi by Mariah

I've been totally obsessed with this since it was reissued last year. Originally released in 1983, it's an eclectic mix of new wave, art pop, krautrock, etc that could be the Japanese version of My Life in the Bush of Ghosts
