Any ways what are some good sexy sad invigorating 2016 albums to listen to? Meez way behind

I'm also a bit behind, but I gave these a listen today and found them both quite rewarding:

Strandebarm by Stein Urheim

(Ambient/psych guitar with some tracks with vocals)

Niechec - Niechc

This is a pretty great follow up to their 2012 record. It's like Colin Stetson on steroids (and Colin Stetson is already on steroids).

hmmm no Mecca roundup of the day's new releases yet, so here's stuff that I think is worth taking note of

Horse Lords - Interventions: really great pattern heavy guitar sax drums bass n sometimes electronics album, highly recommended

Oren Ambarchi, Massimo Pupillo & Stefano Pilia - Aithein: so many cool improv trio releases have been coming out, although of course this has two people who have already been in an improv trio release I liked this year. this one starts quiet but gets to a cool cosmic rock sort of thing, good stuff.

Antwood - Virtuous.scr: new on planet-mu, the write-up on bleep mentions Amnesia Scanner and Elysia Crampton so it's probably worth hearing

Fog - For Good: I mentioned this earlier listen to the stream here http://noisey.vice.com/blog/listen-to-fogs-album-stream-for-good

Brian Eno - The Ship: Eno is cool I should listen to this

NHK yx Koyxen - Sparrow's Gardens: this probably isn't over 20 minutes but NHK yx Koyxen putting out something on L.I.E.S. should be interesting

Views is very subpar, like it doesn't sound like a professional artist, RIP Champagne Papi[/quote]

I'm giving it a listen right now, and I'm about halfway through I think. I'm not sure if I agree with it being unprofessional, but I'm certainly finding it slightly boring. It's the same problem I have with his last release... it's just so generic. It doesn't have the stand-out qualities of Take Care or Nothing Was The Same. It feels very mixtape-y. I'm also finding that every song is basically about the same thing. "I'm from Toronto. Girls make me sad. Started from the bottom now I'm here."... it gets a bit tiresome. He just needs some more substance.

Like, it's not terrible, but I can't help but feel he can do better. His pop tracks are much better than his cloud-rap ones. The track with dvsn and Pimp C is probably the most interesting thing so far.

EDIT: Also, the cover is ridiculous ๐Ÿคฃ For those who don't know the size of the CN tower, Drake would have to be like.. 15 feet tall in the photo.

Weird, I really dig Views. Maybe it's because I actually like "his cloud rap thing" and also really enjoy his newer trap influenced style. Anyways I'll post more of my thoughts later, but I love it.

Someone calculated that in the photoshop, he's 12 feet tall sitting down. That cover is so awful, I replaced mine with a version with Drake photoshopped back out.

There are rumors that Radiohead's new album will be out tomorrow, and Chance's new mixtape seems imminent as well. Maybe that'll help pick up what's been somewhat of a lackluster year in music for me.
