I don't feel that Loaded is even close to their best, though I understand its catchier, more popular appeal.

I think you should listen to Oh Sweet Nuthin' again.

Thanks, but I disagree. I've heard it plenty

This. I've always felt Loaded was far too top-loaded, with the first 3 tracks all absolute zingers and the rest lightweight by comparison. In fact I've just dusted down my copy of it (crackles and all) and can confirm that Oh! Sweet Nuthin', whilst charming and a perfectly decent song by normal standards, isn't in the same league as anything from the first 3 albums to my ears at least. In fact I'd rather listen to Lonesome Cowboy Bill...

Nope, it's the 3rd LP for me. Love songs, a hymn, a murder mystery and Moe Tucker inventing twee. In truth though their first 3 albums are all Top 50 records any day of the week, especially on a Sunday morning.

I would actually rate the posthumous VU over S/T or White Light.

Besides, I just listened to Coltrane's A Love Supreme and don't want to come so far down from such heights haha

That's understandable 🤣

I'll second that, even though I chose Loaded.
