I figure it's like this: if just the CD is missing but not the case, then you probably just misplaced it. But if the CD AND the case are missing, then one of your friends probably stole it. But unfortunately, just because you identified the suspect does NOT mean you're going to get the CD back. Because a lot of times when you try to get it back they just say "No, you're mistaken Bobby. This is my CD. Ive always had this CD. It's mine." So then you just kind of throw up your hands and accept the fact that it's gone for good. You just lost on that deal.

Funny little story here, I went to a russian classical concert in a church one time. Beautiful performance. Anyways, the instructor that invited me told the group playing that I was a student that came to see it. They were one of those vocal only type classical groups, but, sonically, they were amazing and used the area well. Felt like the kind of church experience that everyone always had, but I never did.

Anyways, I got a free cd because my instructor told them I was the only person from my class who came. I listened to it a lot, but I thought I lost it because it wasn't in the case one day. I hated that case anyways, but I did eventually find it in my return to cookie mountain case and now I'll never be able to forget where it is.

Yep. A lot of times its hidden under another cd in the case. You put two in there by accident.
