loadsa people have covered it but I think the best versions are by Frank Sinatra and Judy Collins.

The Grace Jones version of Send in the Clowns actually has that calliope or circus organ song in it that goes "boop BOOP BOOP, boop BOOP BOOP" You know, that actual circus song.
