By what metric? Itโ€™s a very loose terminology that encompasses R&B, traditional pop, and the expansions of both of them. But if we are speaking generally, sure, alright. Here's a new chart for you.

Where Did Our Love Go by The Supremes

Presenting The Fabulous Ronettes Featuring Veronica by The Ronettes

Baby, It's You by The Shirelles

Please Mr. Postman by The Marvelettes

Shangri-Las - 65! by The Shangri-Las

Thanks to both of you! Decided to check out the Marvelettes instead because I liked to cover haha. Pretty cool. From Gowi's list I only know the Supremes which I like a lot, and the Ronettes which I love.

With that said, even though such albums are usually pretty short (rarely longer than 40 minutes), I disagree that 5 albums are easy to listen to. Considering that to decently get into a record, I have to listen to it usually at least three times, that's already quite a lot of time to invest. From the artist's side, 5 albums is a short discography, it's true ; but from the listener's, if I had heard 5 records by all artists I know, well, I would actually know only half of them...

For someone who cares about music as an enthuiast it is not unreasonable to spend an extra three or four hours to give the artist the respect they deserve.

Did you know that Carole King played drums on The Shirelles' Will You Love Me Tomorrow, in addition to writing it? I love trivia like that.

I didn't. That's pretty cool. ๐Ÿ˜

Expanded my aforementioned chart, but I doubt it'll get much bigger. It's a niche genre with only a handful of records in the era I pay attention to. There's also the indie pop revival of girl group aesthetics, but that's a different beast entirely.
