Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.3/100, a mean average of 77.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.0.

Quite a simple collection of songs that are trying to hook you to their choruses and make you sing them for the rest of the day. This works to a varying degree of success with the best tracks coming very early on. Almost every track on side 1 has a fantastic chorus and is so infectious to listen to. I leave this album with Baby Love and Where Did Our Love Go firmly wedged inside my brain. The song that has grown on me the most though is When The Lovelight Starts Shining Through His Eyes which is such an effective song and I always sing along to it whenever it comes on. However, side 2 is the complete opposite and I find no song really works on there at all. If you removed the whole of side 2 I think it would only make the album better as all the boring and dull tracks would be removed. Overall, a simple but effective release that is let down drastically by the second half in my opinion.

Baby Love is great, but generally missing something in the arrangements. Phil Spector would have put them over the top

Feels like a greatest hits album as much as a novel release. While I enjoy quite a few Motown acts more than The Supremes, it's hard to argue that they aren't a well oiled machine. They spend no time getting to the hooks and the songs are played to this day for a reason. If you aren't going to buy a greatest hits album, this is the one to get.

Best tracks: Where Did Our Love Go?, Baby Love, Come See About Me
Worst tracks: Run Run Run, Long Gone Lover

A generally great release by The Supremes, and includes one of my favorite tracks of theirs, 'Come See About Me'.

Solid album. Infectious vocals make every song worth listening to.

The Supremes strike me more as a compilation band than anything. Obvious highlights aside, not much to this album.

This original album was the Supremes' second. It contains some of the Supremes' great singles hits. "Baby Love", "Come See About Me" and the title-track. Apart from two Smokey Robinson songs all tracks on the album were penned by Holland/Dozier/Holland which gives it very consistent feel. Stand out tracks, besides the hits, are "I'm Giving You Your Freedom" and "Standing at the Crossroads of Love".

'Where Did Our Love Go' and 'Baby Love' are the essentials. I don't think there's much point listening to the full album.
