2018 Albums

Hayden · 2018-01-01T13:23:54-05:00

It's that time of year again folks — a new one (2018 if you're still keeping score). Personally, I loved the music output of 2017. Solid, consistent, innovative, plus the duds have already been erased from my mind and I can't wait for Arcade Fire's follow-up to Reflektor. Here's to 2018 :) This thread will be a general discussion on new and upcoming releases this year, and perhaps any goals/wishes you wish to see in the world of music. Take some time to share singles, EPs, albums, mixtapes, whatever you wish. I'll start off my sharing some of my anticipated releases: Earl Sweatshirt Vampire Weekend My Bloody Valentine Sky Ferreira Tune-Yards Father John Misty Chromatics (hopefully) Blood Orange Danny Brown No Age Iceage SOPHIE David Byrne Natalie Prass Lucy Dacus Grouper U.S. Girls Speedy Ortiz Andrew WK Spiritualized Rhye & a hopefully a slew of artists I know nothing about And it looks like 2018 already has a familiar face :) Jeff Rosenstock has released the follow-up to his excellent 2016 album SORRY. Looking forward to giving it a spin later. POST- by Jeff Rosenstock Cheers everyone, here's to a new year.

As with every year for the last (how many has it been now?) years, I am most excited for Tool. It's going to happen this time, for real. Right?

Dude who played organ on early Benson albums. Organ trio with Jonathan Kreisberg on guitar (a fave of mine).

After 3 years of great singles and 2 excellent EPs these self professed, unapologetic, Neutral Milk Hotel fanboys with a self-deprecating sense of humour finally release their debut album.

I hadn't a clue Lonnie Smith was still alive 🤣 An album on Blue Note nonetheless... might have to seek that one out.
