even still, that list is a pretty limited perspective. north america has synths too. just with canadians alone you've got bruce haack, syrinx, mort garson, dan snaith, tim hecker, kara-lis coverdale, and then depending on how wide your view is you've got intersystems and paul dolden and venetian snares and a bunch more.
Very true. I think the person's taste kind of leans toward mainstream electronic, if there's any such thing. My taste is kind of like that too. Most of my favorites also tend to be the most well-known. I like the Lesser well-known also of course, but a lot of the big names tend to be my favorites.
I didn't know Venetian snares was Canadian. Never realized that.
RoundTheBendI miss the comfort in being sadProfile Ground Control
Also I remember liking this album when I was younger even though I wasn't that into electronic music. Is this just garbage to those with a more acquired taste?
Why is the top 10 almost all Krautrock? Besides that, like I said earlier, most of that is surely under the umbrella of electronic music, but since we have separate discussions lined up for ambient, new age, and do we have "dance" separate?, then most of these would be better suited for those discussions.
Don't want to prematurely shoot your wad.

I guess there's seconds...?
No but I do totally agree with this line of thinking. At the same time genre isn't an exact science and I think a lot of artists have a lot of overlap. For example we will have a Dance thread and then a Pop thread... there's 90% chance I'm cool with putting them in the same thread... but idk. I'm still learning at this to be honest.
For example, I feel like Kraftwerk is put in the Krautrock genre only because they are from Germany... really it's just electronic music from Germany and that's really the main thing they do (electronic music)? Krautrock is the 5th genre listed on wikipedia after Electronic, synth-pop, art pop, and avant-garde. Technically Krautrock isn't a genre, but regional music... hahahahahaa... just messing, even if mostly true... totally not worth a debate over.
Also here's a shout out to Luigi's #1 album - thanks for the rec on that. Quite the trip. (didn't mean to steal your fire if you want to talk about that later).

The Crystal Method album has a couple of great ones that I love. Especially Busy Child, which is great. And a couple others like Trip Like I Do., although the version on the Spawn soundtrack adds a vocalist, the guy from the 90's alternative band Filter. And it's great. The whole Spawn album is fantastic. I also like The Crystal Method next album after this one, Tweekend. And also one called Legion of Boom is alright.

Nah bruh it is perfectly fine. Besides even when I rework my best list, my number 1 will probably be Caracal. My most listen album. Almost three years and still bangs like a motherfucker. That album is a crack album. Couldn't put it down. Hell, I only listen to Caracal when I was in the car to go to college or work for a good year. Also shoutout to Mezzanine. That album got better on the second listen.
If David Bowie's Low is being considered I don't know what is wrong with my artists. Remember the people making genres in the media are Fake News...
I think your choices could fit mostly. With the exception of Like a Prayer maybe. Although her later albums would fit better. I'd probably consider albums that are electronic and pop at the same time to belong in one or another electronic category. I don't see why not I don't see why not.
I guess, But I think Like a Prayer is very artsy so I included it... Like, I wouldn't have included Madonna's debut album or Tina Turner's Private Dancer. Those are really Pop and not just victims of the media trying to take down art by ignoring it..
Edit: and if its any consolation I think everyone will vote for wildly different artists kinda like the regional thread and only my top artist will make the final round, and then you can simply vote her down...

Someone criticized your list? Didn't see a post.
Madonna's Ray of Light would be more on-point. Bjork's a good choice. Also you could sample some of the artists on that RYM or other members' lists and maybe you'll find stuff you'd like enough to include. I haven't heard enough electronic music yet to be comfortable putting up a list at this moment.
