I'm glad you enjoyed the album and hopefully it grows on you. Now I wait for the pick.

Gowi, if you're still using Luigii's list, then take 5 to 10 picks off of it that you have not heard and then post it below the album that you just reviewed.

Watch a pro to see how it's done.

The Theory by Innersoul

Yo, this is pretty good. Not all the tracks here are winners. And, for the most part, it's typical boom bap/ jazz rap that you would find in '96. The lyrics are focused a lot on the emcee's redemption (I think) from the gangster life, and his finding his true self through spirituality. It seems like a good and positive message which is why it gets the "Conscious" tag. However, this one track "Jump On It" has a beat change halfway through that seems unique for this time and place in hip hop. Especially given the previous tracks structures.

Not a bad discovery.

Gowi, I'm going to pick "Luxury Problems" by Andy Stott.

Sorry, but this makes things more confusing. You're picking an album for Luigii, not Gowi. Gowi can jump in to the game if and when he's ready.

Leaves Turn Inside You by Unwound
Shit... this is somewhere between the greatest find ever and eh, the novelty might wear off and the songwriting really isn't that good. Haven't made up my mind, but instrumentally this is absolutely fantastic. I especially liked the tones discovered. Bass was super solid with tonality and great drumming. Dude competes with the Edge on effects. It's a melting pot of lots of stuff I really like. I just wish the songwriting/lyrics/vocal performance would match. If it were, it'd probably spring onto my overall sometime soon. idk... maybe I'll give it a few more listens. For now giving it a 90 as to keep it on my radar.

OK, so I should have given one to Lugii last time, but Gowi was the last to review an album, I gave one to them. Anyways, Luigii, I guess you can listen to Porcupine Tree. They have better albums, but the rest of your list at this point is not that great.

Give It Up To The G's by Y-D

G-Funk album that glides along smoothly through it's 13 tracks. Production was never overbearing, and Y-D seemed a capable MC. I'll probably keep a couple of these tracks on rotation. Especially a couple of the final ones.

Seth, I think you'll fair best with Tabula Rasa.

I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You by Aretha Franklin

Great voice, boring songs.

Rocka try Millenium - Kaos Theory. Apparently a talented battle rapper and a pretty cool album cover.

Shangri-Las - 65! - The Shangri-Las
Nashville Skyline - Bob Dylan
Wild Honey - The Beach Boys

I got to go back to Deadwing since I remember loving that album, but for this album yeah I love this album a lot. I just enjoy the variety that Porcupine Tree brings to the table. Mixing rock, metal and other genres to create an interesting and enjoyable palette. Grade wise:95
Also this might be in the top 10 canon wise, but for me I don't know since there is other albums that don't get the chance to get in this list that I love a lot.

Pash listen to the Nico album.

Kaos Theory by Millenium (US)

Another good album with some great tracks, but mostly just average stuff. The best out of the three I have listened to this far. Instrumentally this album surprised me; it was pretty chill and well put together. Street wise lyrics are appropriate and rarely cheesy, and Millenium has a confident, if sometimes a little muddled, delivery.

That's actually exactly what I thought when I first listened to the album too. It's a grower (well it was for me). If you have any interest in getting into her, I'd give it about 3-5 more listens.

That's of course assuming it is the same for you. Could be just not your cup of tea. But I totally thought the same thing my first listen or two and then about a year later and 5 or so more listens and it's totally one of my favorite.
