Both create great dark atmospheres that I really enjoy. Will be a tough one.

Both albums are in their way very creepy but Puce Mary wasn't able to hold my attention neither on an intellectual level as on an emotional level so this was going to be a no no whatever the other album was.
And I thought I wouldn't like the Leonie Pernet album at first view but I had to change my view big time. This is an incredibly atmospheric album which changes moods even within the songs (just listen to the title track) and while it still has a feeling of the better French pop, it has all kinds of other elements in it which are blended in the greatest way. This is for me the clear winner of the two and I hope it doesn't stop here for it.

Leonie Pernet reminds me of The Cranes from the early 90s who I loved.

(still deciding)

Gonna go with Pernet, I've liked what I've heard from Puce Mary but this again isn't creepy or violet or at least varied enough to be artistically successful, but still a nice sound regardless. Pernet is just effectively low-key, not quite unsettingy but definitely off-kilter (if melodic) late-night, through-the-headphones art pop, and is the more engaging listen.

I love your Avatar... lifetime repeat movie for me.

Two albums that I liked a lot more than I expected (especially Puce Mary). Engaging listens throughout with interesting blends of sounds. Crave gets the edge, but both will end up on my 2018 honorable mentions chart for now. I agree with CGD that Crave is foremost an art pop album, and agree with Tilly that there are significant darkwave and synthpop influences. Somehow I am the first person out of 13 on RYM to rate it at least 3.5/5, while The Drought is in the top 100 for 2018.

This match has two fewer votes than all the others. Two interesting albums - what are you waiting for? 😁

Remember, they all close Sunday at 7 Eastern Time unless someone requests an extension.
